I'm Ash Cieplensky,

it's nice to meet you

TL;DR:

I'm a product designer based in Pittsburgh, PA, specializing in user experience and user interface design for complex B2B systems. Empathy and curiosity drive my creation of thoughtful, human-centric solutions.

Currently working as a Product Designer at Govini designing mission-critical tools for defense analytics. You'll find me running field user research one day and architecting a design system the next.

My journey into design:

My interest in UX started while pursuing a BS in Psychology at the University of Central Florida. A Human Factors course first introduced me to the intersection of psychology and design — I realized how powerfully external factors shape behavior and interaction.

Before transitioning to design, I worked as a research assistant in a mental health lab, honing skills in data analysis, participant empathy, and pattern recognition. Those experiences laid the perfect foundation for a research-driven approach to design.

Things that bring me joy:

The color green Cooking for the people I love; Fiber arts Listening to the same 5 songs on repeat; Rock climbing Reading and writing; My bunny and cats Learning new things; Exploring the outdoors Baking and decorating cakes; Realizing the world is full of joyful things

My Design Process

01.

Empathize Deeply

Great design starts with deep understanding. I prioritize listening to users — their motivations, frustrations, and unspoken needs — to uncover the real problems worth solving.

02.

Design Thoughtfully

Every design decision should be intentional and user-centered. I carefully consider context, needs, and constraints to create solutions that are both functional and meaningful.

03.

Validate Early & Often

Testing early means learning fast. I use prototyping and usability testing throughout my process to gather real feedback, validate assumptions, and catch problems before they're costly.

04.

Create Impact

Design should drive measurable results. I focus on solutions that improve user experience while supporting business goals — better conversion, faster workflows, higher satisfaction.
